Ga ada orang yang suka musik di dunia ini yang ga mengenal The Beatles. The Beatles merupakan musisi legenda yang dikenal hampir disemua kalangan baik orang tua hingga remaja. Lagu-lagu yang easy listening merupakan daya pemikat dari musisi ini. Nada-nada musik dan vokal yang unik juga menambah ke khasan dari pada band-band lainnya. Berikut sejarah singkat mengenai The Bealtes yang saya ambil dari wikipedia.
Sejarah The Beatles, The Beatles adalah kelompok pemusik Inggris beraliran rock, dibentuk di Liverpool pada tahun 1960, seringkali dianggap sebagai pemusik tersukses secara komersial dan paling banyak mendapat pujian dalam musik populer. Sejak tahun 1962, kelompok ini terdiri dari John Lennon (gitar ritem, vokal), Paul McCartney (gitar bass, vokal), George Harrison (gitar utama, vokal), Ringo Starr (drum, vokal). Bermula dari aliran skiffle dan rock and roll 1950-an, kelompok ini nantinya memainkan musik dalam berbagai genre mulai dari folk rock sampai rock psikedelik, memasukkan juga unsur musik klasik dan elemen lain dengan cara inovatif. The Beatles dipandang sebagai perwujudan ide-ide progresif, berpengaruh terhadap revolusi sosial budaya dekade 60-an.
Awalnya 5 orang terdiri dari Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe (bass) dan Pete Best (drum), The Beatles hanya terkenal di klub-klub Liverpool dan Hamburg selama 3 tahun mulai tahun 1960. Sutcliffe hengkang tahun 1961, dan Best diganti Starr tahun berikutnya. Beatles ditempa jadi profesional oleh seorang pengusaha toko musik bernama Brian Epstein setelah ia jadi manajer mereka dan potensi musik dipoles oleh produser George Martin. Akhir 1962, Beatles sudah mendapatkan kesuksesan di Britania Raya dengan singel pertama Love Me Do. Sepanjang tahun berikut, mereka melakukan tur internasional sampai 1966 dan berkonsentrasi merekam album di dalam negeri sampai bubar tahun 1970. Karier solo masing-masing dibilang sukses tapi Lennon terbunuh di New York City tahun 1980 dan Harisson meninggal karena kanker tahun 2001. McCartney dan Starr masih aktif bermusik.
Makin kesini lagu-lagu dan album The Beatles makin langka, baik kepingan hitam ataupun kaset anda tidak akan banyak jumpai di pasar-pasar musik antik. Bagi pecinta The Beatles tentu saja jalan lainnya untuk mendapatkan lagu-lagu The Bealtes yaitu dengan mendownloadnya di internet. Namun sering kali album-albumnya tidak lengkap dan menambah kita semakin pusing untuk mencari album-album dari The Beatles ini. Saya pernah mengobrol dengan maniak The Beatles di Rangkasbitung (orangnya tua), dia saja sampai minta tolong ke saya untuk mendownloadkan beberapa lagu / album dari The Beatles yang dia anggap itu sangat sulit didapatkan. Dengan alasan tersebut saya berinisiatif untuk mengupload 24 album The Beatles. Semoga saja berguna bagi The Beatles mania yang kesulitan untuk mendownload lagu-lagu The Beatles, dan juga orang yang baru memulai untuk mendengarkan The Beatles.
